Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) applications in aerospace industry have to deal with three major problems: complex geometries (wing/body/engine configurations, deflected control surfaces, etc.); complex flow features (shear layers, separation, vortices, shock surfaces); and time and cost constraints. The purpose of this paper is to show how these three problems influence the grid generation process for CFD applications.
