An analytical, numerical as well as experimental investigations of foam-filled thin-walled square columns are made. Lower and upper bounds on torsional resistance are established analytically. The possibility of apparition of higher-order sectional collapse modes, which results in a higher torsional resistance, is also put into evidence. Torsional experiments are compared to analytical and numerical solutions with reasonably good agreement.
