The author studies necessary conditions for equality of two nonzero star products of vectors in symmetry classes to tensors associated to irreducible characters of the symmetric group of degree \(m\). These conditions depend upon the notation of \(\mu^-\) coloring of a family of vectors introduced by the author [Linear Multilinear Algebra 27, No. 1, 25-32 (1990; Zbl 0739.05020)]. Auxiliary results are in Section 2.
