Multiwavelet packets and frame packets of \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\) (Q1348756)

Wavelet packets were introduced by Coifman, Meyer and Wickerhauser in order to obtain representations of functions in \(L^2(\mathbb{R})\) with better frequency localization than possible with a single wavelet orthonormal basis. Via tensor products, the construction extends to \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\). In the present paper a non-tensor wavelet packet analysis is developed on \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\). The construction of wavelet frame packets is also generalized to \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\).
