Consequences of the application of Noether's theorem are given for an elastic (or pseudo-elastic) field theory where the Lagrangian density involves an additional second-order tensor -- which may stand for the dipole approximation of a microcrack-density function (in damage theory), and its first-order space and time derivatives. The results are practically trivial, and no special use is made of them. A possibility of including a truly nonlocal contribution (in the manner of Eringen and Edelen) to the microstructure related to damage is also mentioned, yielding a more general form of balance laws.
