The author studies a certain \(C^*\) algebra, the Cordes algebra, associated with Schrödinger operators which allows to discuss solvability of the Schrödinger equation. The particular interest of this paper is to introduce this algebra when the potential has a growth rate at infinity which may be arbitrarily large. This allows to give solvability criteria for pseudo-differential operators with coefficients of arbitrary rapid increase at infinity.
