Mathematics is an objective study of well-defined abstract structures. Aesthetics is a subjective study of the ill-defined concept of beauty. Mathematicians often see beauty in what they do and find particular aesthetic pleasure in doing it in a particular way, but getting mathematical objects out of pure aesthetics is clearly an exercise in futility and absurdity; yet in absurdity lies amusement and in amusement beauty. So the reviewer finds particular pleasure in recommending this work to the reader who will find here a rich source of amusement even if the work does not appeal to his particular aesthetic sense. The true lesson of this work, however, is that if one has the right attitude and the right connections, one can publish any amount of nonsense.
