It is shown that any finite dimensional commutative nilpotent Banach algebra can be embedded isometrically into an amenable commutative Banach algebra with approximate diagonal of norm not exceeding 1. The latter Banach algebra is constructed as the completion of the quotient of \(L_1(\mathbb{R}^m)\) for some \(m\) modulo the nullspace of a seminorm.
