The author shows that if \(S\) is an irreducible Riemann surface with boundary \(\Gamma\) in \(P^n\) \((\Gamma\) is an orientable closed curve of class \(C^2\) and \(S\) may have singularities), then \(\Gamma \cup S\) admits a fundamental system of Stein neighborhoods. This answers a question raised by Dolbeault and Henkin.
