The author considers a linear neutral functional differential equation with piecewise constant argument. Such an equation possesses hybrid dynamics and, due to the linearity of the equation, all solutions can be explicitly constructed in terms of the initial data and all coefficients involved. This enables the author to derive sufficient conditions for the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic stability of solutions. Two examples are given to illustrate these sufficient conditions.
