The author gives necessary and sufficient algebraic criteria for the stability of \(N\)-dimensional difference systems of the form \(x(t)=Ax(t-t_1)+Bx(t-t_2)\) with two time delays (three when they are linearly dependent over the rationals). Here \(A\) and \(B\) are \(N\times N\) real matrices, and \(t_1>0\) and \(t_2>0\).
