We investigate the impacts of non-Gaussian and colored-noise on the probability distribution of soil moisture resulting from a statistical-dynamical land-atmosphere interaction model. Persistence of hydroclimatologic anomalies as characterized by the correlation time scale of soil moisture is discussed.
