A system of second-kind Volterra integral equations is considered. It describes the probability of finding two ions at relative spatial separation \(r\) and with internal relative energy \(\lambda\) (\(\mu\)) before (after) a collision with a third body. Some open problems concerning the analytic solution and the numerical solution (obtained by a collocation quadrature) are proposed.
