The author proves existence and uniqueness of a solution to the maximal surface equation \[ \sum^n_{i=1} {\partial\over\partial x_i} \Biggl({f_{x_i}\over\sqrt{1-|\nabla f|^2}}\Biggr)=0\quad\text{in }D\backslash A,\quad D\subset\mathbb{R}^n, \] where \(A\) is a finite set of points in \(D\), \(f|_{\partial D}=\varphi\), and \(D\) may be an unbounded domain.
