A bifurcation control method for the parametrically excited Duffing system is proposed by making use of the combined linear-plus-nonlinear feedback. The author examines the effect of the bifurcation control for the stabilization of trivial steady state in frequency response and for the elimination of jump in force response. Taking into account the fact that the system is qualitatively characterized by the modulation equation, the author determines the order of combined linear-plus-nonlinear feedback gains. Modifying the modulation equations due to the feedback, the method of the bifurcation control is proposed and the performance of the system under bifurcation control is numerically simulated.
