Let \(G\) be a split \(p\)-adic group with connected center. We prove that only one member of a tempered unipotent \(L\)-packet for \(G\) admits a Whittaker model. The representation is the expected one, namely, that containing the Steinberg representation of the corresponding group over the finite field.
