The subject of this clearly written paper is the generalization of a work by \textit{L. R. Herrmann} [AIAA J. 3, 1896-1900 (1965)] to finite deformation of hyperelastic bodies. The author presupposes certain properties of the strain energy function which, however, are not very restrictive. The efficiency of the method is demonstrated by numerical solutions of several examples.
