The authors prove, among other results, the following: (1) The perfect image of an elastic space need not be elastic. (2) There exist compact first countable spaces which are stratonormal but not elastic. (3) There is a stratifiable space \(S\) such that the Alexandroff duplicate \({\mathcal D}(X)\) is not elastic.
