New necessary and sufficient conditions for a lattice to be normal are given. It is then shown that similar conditions can be obtained for \(L_1\) to coseparate \(L_2\), where \(L_1\) and \(L_2\) are a pair of lattices of subsets of a non-empty set such that \(L_1\subset L_2\).
