Sufficient conditions on the function \(P(t)\) are determined for the differential equation \(x''= P(t)x^{1+a}\), \(a\) a nonzero real constant, to be transformable into a first-order algebraic differential equation. Such a transformation is used in the study of asymptotic properties of solutions.
