The author considers the surface (Rayleigh) and interface (Stoneley) signals in fully-coupled thermoelastic solids. Specifically, the zeros of the corresponding Rayleigh/Stoneley functions in the plane of the bilateral (spatial) Laplace transform of the solution are studied, and analytic expressions for them are derived without recourse to the asymptotic methods. The zeros depend on the unilateral (temporal) Laplace transform variable, hence indicating that the corresponding signals are dispersive.
