The authors study oscillatory flows through a pipe in combination with the concentration effects. The momentum equation has been written for non-Newtonian fluids with the Maxwell constitutive equation. In the convection-diffusion equation, the authors retain a convective term with respect to the axial direction, thus obtaining a partial differential equation. The Schmidt number is supposed to be large. A finite difference implicit scheme is adopted to solve integral momentum equations. The analysis reveals that for viscoelastic fluids the dispersion coefficient changes cyclically with double frequency period.
