A strong reconstruction theorem (SRT) being similar to the convolution theorem known in the theory of linear and shift invariant systems is proved. The introduced framework forms a general model of the theory of translation invariant systems. It is revealed that the SRT subsumes the results of morphological analysis as discussed by \textit{P. Maragos} and \textit{R. W. Schafer} [IEEE Trans. Acoust. Speech Signal Process. 35, 1153-1169, 1170-1184 (1987)].
