This article is a short summary of Murray Rosenblatt's contributions to probability and statistics in honor of his 70th birthday. Rosenblatt has written about 140 research articles, 4 books (one jointly with U. Grenander) and has edited or coedited 6 books. His research interests cover a wide range of topics in the field of probability theory and statistics. It is impossible to comment on all of his contributions in detail in this short article. Instead we shall concentrate on only 4 areas in which he has made fundamental contributions and inspiring impact. The selection of these areas is influenced by the familiarity of this author to these subjects. It is by no means any discredit to his contributions to other areas. We shall leave the comments on his contributions to other areas by people later on some other occasions.
