A large class of electromechanic phenomena admits a description characterized by relatively large deformations and electric (magnetic) fields on which one superimposes relatively small deformations and electric (magnetic) fields. Here the author considers two stratified dielectrics separated by a layer, described by the equation \(x_3=0\). The constitutive parameters vary with coordinate \(x_3\) only. The problem is reduced to a set of matrix equations describing large and small quantities. The splitting technique is then used to derive a system for displacement and electrical field as unknowns. The diagonalization allows to handle the forward and the backward components. Finally, the differential equation is transformed into an integral one, for which the author more easily obtains the existence of solution. In the reviewer's opinion, the paper is interesting and opens a way to find numerically stable solutions for polarized (biased) dielectrics, especially when no closed solutions are available.
