A nonlinear two-point boundary value problem with a degenerate coefficient at the higher derivative is considered. An iterative algorithm for solving this problem is formulated. This method is basically a collocation method. It is proved that the iterative algorithm converges to a smooth approximate solution provided the boundary value problem is well posed and the algorithm is applied appropriately. It is shown that the method has fourth-order accuracy for sufficiently smooth solutions.
