The pole placement and the input-output decoupling of singular square systems are considered. A new method for decoupling via state feedback and regular input transformation is presented. Necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the problem are established. The method is based on the matrix fraction description of the system. The problem of pole placement while decoupling is also considered. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.
