A modification of the classical method for constructing spline wavelets is proposed. This results in scaling functions with the cardinal interpolating property. The simplest members of this family are the Shannon wavelets that are the only orthogonal ones in the family, just like the Haar wavelets are the only orthogonal ones in the family constructed by the classical method.
