We study the solvability of an initial boundary problem that describes the dynamics of a one-dimensional elastic medium in the Lagrangian coordinates under external forces and heat sources. We establish local theorems of existence and uniqueness of solutions in the classes of functions that have better properties with respect to the time variable than to the space variable.
