Difference schemes for hydrodynamic problems in terms of the stream functions and vorticity variables (Q1374991)

We present difference schemes for two-dimensional nonstationary problems of the dynamics of an incompressible fluid in terms of the stream function and vorticity variables. The transition to a new time layer is related to solving linear difference elliptic equations for stream function and vorticity. For the difference solution for any time step value, an a priori estimate similar to the estimate that holds for the original differential problem is valid.
