From the Introduction: ``The decomposition of continuity has been studied by many authors, including Levine, Rose, Ganster and Reilly, Tong and Yalvac. The purpose of this note is to present a general result from which some of the decompositions in the literature follow as special cases. Our goal is to show why these decompositions hold and what they have in common.''.
