Considering the flow-salt-sediment motion in tidal estuaries, the author presents the three-dimensional time-dependent equations for the Reynolds-averaged velocity, pressure, salinity and the suspended sediment concentration. After mapping the estuary region on the unit cube, a numerical solution is obtained by using the finite difference method together with the boundary conditions and the input surface displacements from the open boundaries. Finally, a comparison with data from Changjiang estuary is made.
