The following multi-constraints optimal regional pole placement for linear time-invariant systems is considered. Find a controller which minimizes the performance criterion and such that the closed-loop poles lie in a prespecified region. Necessary conditions for the problem solution are derived and an algorithm for finding the optimal solution is presented. The problem is solved using the Lagrange multiplier method. An analysis of robustness with respect to structured uncertainty is also given.
