We propose a new method for numerically evaluating two-dimensional finite-part integrals of the form \[ I(X,Y)= \iint_S \frac{u(x,y)dx dy} {[(x-X)^2+ (y-Y)^2]^{3/2}}, \] and an error analysis. A variant of this method has recently been used for computing a tomographic reconstruction from projection.
