The author studies the variational inequality \((Tu- Au,g(u)- g(v))\geq f(u)- f(v)\) in a reflexive Banach space. First he proves some existence and uniqueness theorems for solutions. By using the auxiliary problem technique, he describes a general algorithm to compute an approximate solution. Lastly, a convergence criterion is discussed.
