The author applies his former description of the category of torsion-free abelian groups of finite rank localized with respect to \(\mathbb{Q}\) [ibid. 175, 135-153 (1989; Zbl 0713.20050)]\ -- by means of localization with respect to rings of integral and rational \(p\)-adic numbers -- to the category of Butler groups (i.e. pure subgroups of finite direct sums of subgroups of \(\mathbb{Q}\)).
