The existence of extremal solutions of the initial value problem for a second-order nonlinear impulsive integrodifferential equation in a Banach space is investigated. The method is based on the Banach fixed point theorem and upper and lower solutions. The considerations are illustrated by an example of an infinite system of nonlinear scalar second-order integrodifferential equations.
