This paper presents an alternative formula of the Moore-Penrose pseudoinverse for a matrix by the modified Huang algorithm. The results correct a formula in the book entitled ``ABS projection algorithms: Mathematical techniques for linear and nonlinear equations'' (1989; Zbl 0691.65022) written by \textit{J. Abaffy} and \textit{E. Spedicato}.
