The Pritchard-Salamon class of systems is a subclass of the class of linear, time-invariant, infinite-dimensional systems in state space with unbounded input- and/or output operators. The authors main result is the characterization of all impulse responses, called weighting operator pattern in the article, that have a state space realization in the Pritchard-Salamon class of systems.
