The authors develop a semi-iterative method for computing the action of the Drazin inverse of a singular linear system. A convergence theory including the estimates of the rate of convergence is presented. The paper extends earlier work by \textit{M. Hanke} and \textit{M. Hochbruck} [ETNA, Electron. Trans. Numer. Anal. 1, 89-103 (1993; Zbl 0809.65039)] who considered matrices with one-dimensional Jordan blocks corresponding to the zero eigenvalue. The performance of the algorithm is illustrated on numerical examples.
