The paper presents an algebraic investigation of local symmetries for a specific supersymmetric generalization of the relativistic point-particle model, i.e. a two-dimensional superparticle in a curved spacetime background. Proceeding from the requirement of the correct number of first- and second-class constraints, the minimum system of restrictions on the background superfield is given, ensuring a correct inclusion of interactions. For such a background generic local symmetries are found. The resulting transformations involve contribution of torsion superfields and the gauge algebra is closed and nontrivially deformed as compared to the flat spacetime case. The curved background is restricted by a set of supergravity constraints resulting from the invariance of the action under a generalization of the flat background local symmetries.
