Fallacies arising from ambiguity (Q1379285)

The scope of this book is roughly Aristotle's Fallacies Dependent on Language: Equivocation, Amphiboly, Combination, Division, Accent, and Figure of Speech. From modern treatments of Accent as emphasis, Walton develops a chapter on Innuendo and another on Bias (not including the statistical kind), neither of which is a fallacy arising from ambiguity. Unfortunately, given that ambiguity is a matter of a word or expression with two or more meanings, Walton does not provide a discussion of theories of meaning.
