A new look at means on topological spaces (Q1380733)

The author uses the concept of P-localization introduced in a joint work with \textit{G. Mislin} and \textit{J. Roitberg} [Localization of nilpotent groups and spaces, North-Holland Mathematical Studies 15 (1975; Zbl 0323.55016)]to simplify arguments and extend the results of a joint paper with \textit{B. Eckmann} and \textit{T. Ganea} [Stud. Math. Anal. related Topics, Essays in Honor of G. Pólya, 82-92 (1962; Zbl 0114.39501)]. The author points out, in particular, a 1-1 correspondence between 2-means on the P-locally connected CW-complexes \(X\) and commutative H-structures on \(X\).
