The radial Schrödinger equation with potential \[ V(r)=-c+w^{2} r^{2}+ \sum_{k=1}^{\infty} V_{k} \lambda^{k} r^{2k+2} \] is considered, where \(c\) and \(w\) are positive constants, \(V_{k}\) are constants, and \(\lambda\) is a small parameter. Using expansions in powers of \(\lambda\) and the quantum-mechanical hypervirial theorem [\textit{J. O. Hirschfelder}, J. Chem. Phys. 33, 1462-1466 (1960)], the authors evaluate the first few terms in the expansions of the energy eigenvalues and of the expectation values for the potential and kinetic energies.
