The authors propose a new technique to generate a kinetic system expressed in matrix form following a set of rules by using an algorithmic method. Their approach involves three principles which lead to the grouping of the sites in principle and companion subsets. The three principles are: (1) the principle subsets contain the sites considered identical and interchangeable from a functional point of view, (2) to each principle subset is associated a companion subset that contains the sites influencing the rate constants of the sites belonging to the principle subset and (3) these rate constants are defined in terms of the state of the occupation of the sites of the principle and companion subsets.
