Two strategies of the multigrid method applied to a compact scheme with 9-points stencil for 2D convection-diffusion equation are considered. Their \(\epsilon\)-asymptotic stability property defined by the author is proved for the constant coefficients case. Numerical examples with the estimates of asymptotic convergence rate are presented.
