The heat conducting gas dynamics equations are considered in Lagrangian coordinates. The effects of damping relaxation and electricity are incorporated, with electric field gradient equal to specific volume up to a given function, the doping profile, depending on the space coordinate only. The Cauchy problem is studied and the local existence of the classical solution is investigated. The gradient catastrophe is shown to occur.
