The author treats the problem of stability of viscoplastic half-plane to relatively small shear perturbations excited by an instant jump of shear velocity or tangential stress on the boundary at the initial time (vortex layer diffusion). Sufficient restrictions on the governing parameters are specified for which the perturbed motion is stable over infinite time interval. Particularly, the increase in the velocity may not be faster than \(\sqrt{t}\). The author points out qualitative differences between the results for this problem and the results for linear viscous fluid.
