The paper describes an original device made by the authors for two-component (stretch-compression) dynamical tests of metal tube samples according to Hopkinson rod scheme. The obtained experimental data are used to determine the coefficients of Malvern-Sokolovskij model of elastoplastic body. The authors demonstrate quantative and qualitative agreement of experimental and numerical data for the stress and deformation components.
