The paper deals with a model problem on free plane-parallel braking of a rigid body in resisting medium under conditions of jet or separated flow. As a result of qualitative analysis of the system of differential equations describing this class of motions, a family of phase portraits is obtained which consist of an infinite set of nonequivalent portraits containing no limit cycles.
